Why Grateful Pets?
Rebecca and Richard met while working together in 2002. Their motivation to create Grateful Pets began three years later when they were looking for trustworthy and professional care for their Golden Retriever, Delilah (Delilah is pictured in the Grateful Pets logo). Never satisfied with their options and motivated by their love for animals, they committed themselves to becoming experts in the field of pet care. In 2009, Rebecca attended Petropolis Grooming Academy in Chesterfield. Upon completion of the program, Rebecca worked at Kennelwood Pet Resorts and Pets in the City in Soulard. After establishing herself in the Soulard area, Pets in the City moved out of the neighborhood. Rebecca was always mindful of the clientele that didn’t follow her to the new location.
Meanwhile, six months before Rebecca and Richard had their first two-legged child, Richard attended the world renowned Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers in High Ridge, Missouri. Richard graduated first in his class and upon graduation, began working at Kennelwood. During his tenure at Kennelwood, Richard trained hundreds of dogs and worked alongside some of the best trainers in the country.
In the fall of 2016, Rebecca and Richard fulfilled their dream by opening Grateful Pets in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis. They bring their passion, love, and years of experience with dogs & cats to the St. Louis area.
